At the time of its establishment, the founders of the Commission understood it would be useful to make available some tools which would facilitate the comparative study of European cities.
One resource was the publication of the national bibliographies, which presented in the first volumes, country by country, some of the major literature relative to the history of towns. Later that publication was suspended, and in its stead were used some minor publications and additions distributed in photocopy during the annual meetings.
Now the present web site proposes the collection of recent resources regarding Information on Urban History and Urban Historical Research, European country by country, under the care of one or more members of the ICHT.
